Hurricane Harvey - Regional Recovery & Resilience
The Hurricane Harvey – Regional Recovery & Resilience Guidance Group, or R3-G2, was organized in May 2018, to capture critical disaster recovery operations knowledge, from organizations and people directly involved in recovery activities, to drive the development of a comprehensive regional disaster assessment and a strategic recovery and resilience strategy. The R3-G2’s efforts produced the Golden Crescent Regional Recovery Framework and Resilience Strategy. The recovery framework section provides a roadmap for local governments and organizations to enhance their own recovery capacity. The resilience strategy section outlines regional priorities, objectives, goals, and projects the R3-G2 considered important or critical to regional resilience and the success of future recovery efforts.
As of September 1, 2019, a number of R3-G2 members became non-voting members of the REDAC to diversify sector representation; ensure resilience building principles are incorporated into regional economic development; and provide continuity for the implementation of the Golden Crescent Regional Recovery Framework and Resilience Strategy.
The Golden Crescent region will be a resilient and sustainably developed region.
